The following excerpts are selections from eight plays selected for the Out of Ink 2020 production, which was canceled due to the pandemic. The selected plays were among some 30 ten-minute plays written during the ScriptWorks Weekend Fling in November 2019 and were created over 48 hours using these three contributed ingredients:
- Someone in the play doesn’t know what they’re doing, and there are unintended consequences.
- The play must feature a waltz.
- Something or someone must be the last of its kind.
The ingredients were contributed by Shannon Grounds (Artistic Director of Shrewd Productions), Marcus McQuirter (Drama Dept. Chair at Austin Community College), and Rudy Ramirez (Associate Artistic Director of The Vortex).
