Got a play? A poem? A screenplay? A musical? A novel that’s been living rent-free in your head for three years? A character who won’t leave you alone until you tell their story? Bring it.
This workshop welcomes writers of all genres and all stages of development. Whether you’re holding a polished draft, a half-finished scene, or nothing more than a stubborn idea whispering, “What if?” in the middle of the night, there is a seat for you at the table.
As a filmmaker, playwright, poet, lyricist, educator, and professional storyteller, I’ve spent years helping stories find their shape across multiple mediums. Together we’ll create a space where creativity can breathe, ideas can stretch their legs, and writers can receive thoughtful feedback without losing the spark that made them start writing in the first place.
Depending on the size of the group, each participant will receive dedicated time to share pages, pitch concepts, discuss revisions, ask craft questions, or invite the collective brainpower of the room into a brainstorming session. Sometimes the breakthrough is a note. Sometimes it’s a question. Sometimes it’s hearing your own words spoken aloud and realizing you’ve had the answer all along.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about possibility.
Come with your messy first drafts, your plot holes, your unfinished songs, your villains, your heroes, your heartbreaks, your dragons, your ghosts, your love stories, poems, plays, pilots, and your wildest “what ifs.” We’ll gather around the fire of story and help each other’s words become a little more themselves.
Facilitated by Jennine “DOC” Krueger — award-winning filmmaker, playwright, poet, educator, and professional storyteller; current MFA candidate in Film & Television at SCAD Atlanta and National Fellow in Musical Theatre with the Dramatists Guild Foundation and Theatre Now New York.
