I’M GAY, PLEASE ADVISE by Alex Garza
Sunday, January 26th at 6:30 PM

Trinity Church of Austin, 4001 Speedway in Hyde Park

Join us for readings of two one-acts by members:

THE TAO OF THE ANT LION by George Bronner.
A one-act tale of the Siren’s song, THE TAO OF THE ANT LION explores the universal nature of the human condition and asks us to consider: What if?
George Bronner is a relatively new member of ScriptWorks, and THE TAO OF THE ANT LION is his first stage play. He has a background in Theater and Speech, a degree in Radio/Television/Film with a Journalism minor, and worked as a Writer/Creative Director for 25 years. For the past 10 years, he’s been writing short stories and is intrigued by live stage and the opportunities it offers.
Plus….
I’M GAY, PLEASE ADVISE by Alex Garza
Performing selections from his new one-person play, Alex Garza chronicles his queer journey, beginning with his first childhood crush, his first visit to a gay bar, and of course, his obsession with Olivia Newton-John. His stories are told with humor, happiness, and heartbreak. Life, love, and the complexity of relationships, it’s all in there. Maybe even a Hobbit or two.
Alex Garza has been writing and performing in the Austin area for over 20 years. He has created and performed many one-person shows, and a few of his original plays have been produced at middle schools, high schools, and colleges. He most recently performed his holiday solo play “Abuelita’s Christmas Carol” to a sold-out audience at the Aurora Arts Theatre in Corpus Christi.
