WHAT WE DO
ScriptWorks is playwright development and service organization that was founded to:
- Create a home for dramatic writers that stimulates imagination
- Develop new dramatic works to their fullest potential and feed them into the local and national markets
- Produce and encourage the production of new work that lends dignity to the playwright’s vision
- Network and enhance the visibility of the diverse community of playwrights in the Central Texas area

APPLICATIONS AND COMMISSIONS AVAILABLE FOR FRONTERAFEST 2026
FronteraFest 2026 applications are now available at hydeparktheatre.org. What is FronteraFest you ask? It is a five-week-long performance festival that ScriptWorks co-produces with Hyde Park Theatre. This season there will be three components to the festival: the Short Fringe for pieces 25 minutes or less, Bring Your Own Venue for pieces up to 120 minutes that are performing in found spaces or other theatres, and Mi Casa es Su Teatro, a day of performances in homes and other unusual locations.
Separate from our role as co-producers, ScriptWorks commissions four pieces for the Short Fringe. Commission applications are available now and you can download yours HERE.
