In 1999, Barefoot Theatre Company was founded by a group of multicultural artists in order to produce stimulating and thought-provoking theatre for the public. Since then, we have stood by the principles of ensemble collaboration and artistic risks to develop and foster plays, new and existing, with a broad range of social relevance, striving to keep the vitality of American theater alive and vibrant. By creating a visceral, more provocative manner of storytelling through our ensemble commitment, we provide emerging artists with the opportunity to explore and take artistic risks while engaging audiences of all ages.
Barefoot Theatre Company is currently in search of new and provocative contemporary plays for their upcoming season of productions, readings and workshops.
With over 60 productions since 1999, Barefoot Theatre Company is committed to the development of new plays and the fostering of playwrights; emerging and established. Past works we’ve developed and produced have been seen at such noted theaters as The Bouwerie Lane Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Boston Theatre Marathon, Gloucester Stage Company, and Theatre Row Theatres, among others, as well as being published under Samuel French Play Publishers, Inc.
