The next installment of our Meet the Member Who: __________ series will feature our very own Member Representative and Board Member, Max Langert! Get the back story and the inside scoop on the man who serves as your liaison to ScriptWorks leadership.
Max is a playwright, producer, and storyteller based in Austin. His plays have been performed in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and elsewhere. He’s told stories for Listen to Your Mother, The Moth, Testify, and Austin Bat Cave. He’s also produced benefit shows for The Autism Society of Central Texas, The SAFE Alliance, and VELA Families of Austin.
Ten of Max’s short pieces have been featured in ScriptWorks’ Out of Ink annual showcases since 2006. His work has been named Best of Fest at FronteraFest multiple times, including a collaboration with his sons in 2015, RAVINGS OF A SIX-YEAR-OLD MADMAN. Also In 2015, he produced the site-specific play GOOD WEATHER FOR BUNDT CAKES out of his own house. His full-length play GIBBERISH MOSTLY premiered at Ground Floor Theater’s 2017 reopening; and this fall, Jarrott Productions will premier his environmental comedy, THE PACT, at The Vortex.
