Our friends at Story Bar present their monthly workshop on creativity as a contemplative practice and how to use mindfulness as a tool for engaging in the arts and society. This month’s event will benefit ScriptWorks. The session will be led by SW member Diana Small and will center around art-making as a way to wrestle with mystery. How do we create space in our lives to be curious and encounter mystery? How can we shape the mysteries that make us uncomfortable into questions? How can we investigate those questions through art and sustain a life of curiosity, mystery, and wrestling?

Diana Lynn Small is a theater artist in Austin, TX. She is an Artistic Director of Salvage Vanguard Theater and has an MFA in playwriting from the Michener Center at UT. Her plays Mad & a Goat, Good Day, and Hot Belly have been produced in Austin by SVT, UT Austin, and paper chairs theater company. She is earning an MDiv at Austin Seminary, focusing on storytelling in religion and chaplaincy.
