FOLDING HOUSE A/K/A ONE VENUS HOUR is a foray into our lives as an American family, broken apart by distance, economics, illness and ideology. On the eve of the 2008 recession, David Schulz begins having a series of progressively worsening strokes that finally land him in a nursing home. Without adequate funds to pay for the nursing home, his middle aged children are faced with having to sell his home in order to pay for his health care. Problem is that the home won’t sell . . . Throughout the play, the audience participates in live bidding at an estate auction.
