Whether you’re new to writing for performance or an old hand looking to shake things up, here’s an opportunity to get in the room with other writers in an intensive and interactive workshop led by award-winning playwrights Larry Herold and Kevin Kautzman. Playwrights should come prepared to write, discuss, and think about topics in playwriting and theatre.

(NOTE: Larry has requested that participants be familiar with Mamet’s GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS.
The movie streams on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video.
The play script is here: http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/glengarry.html
If all else fails, there’s a series of YouTube scenes here: http://www.youtube.com/user/movieclips/search?query=glengarry+glen+ross

As you probably know, Alec Baldwin’s big scene in the movie is not in the play. Here’s a cool story about that: http://www.avclub.com/article/why-iglengarry-glen-rossi-alec-baldwin-scene-is-so-82782 )

ABOUT LARRY HEROLD Larry Herold is a playwright from Texas. He studied journalism at Baylor University and fiction writing at Texas State University with the great Tim O’Brien. His plays have been produced in London (PREACHEROSITY at the Jermyn Street Theatre) and Fort Worth (THE SPORTS PAGE at Stage West) and workshopped at the O’Neill Playwrights’ Conference, the Kennedy Center Summer Intensive and the Oak Room in New York’s Algonquin Hotel. Honors include being named a Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and winning the Texas Playwriting Competition. Why playwriting? Because Tom Stoppard’s ARCADIA knocked him out. He’s pretty sure there’s never been a great sports play and he’s trying to rectify that. After several years in New York City, he’s just this minute moved to Austin. He looks forward to subsisting on barbecue, baseball and the local theater and screenwriting scene.
